Tattoo

I have wanted a tattoo for many years.  Kelda has always said the only way I could get one is if her friend from high school, Mike Parsons, did it.  The catch to this statement is that we have not been in touch with Mike in years.  I think Kelda thought that there would be no way this would happen.  Kelda found Mike through Facebook several months ago.  I started in on her immediately for a tattoo.  We started discussing designs (we both quickly got to a cross and a crown) and I did a little research online.  I found out that Mike would be doing tattoos in Marietta the week of Thanksgiving so I set up a time to have it done.  I had been telling Gabriel and Victoria I was doing this but I do not think they thoug I was going to really do it until we pulled into the parking lot of the studio on Tuesday.

Mike took my examples and made a design on his own.  Here are a few "action" photos.

Kelda watched the entire time and Gabriel watched most of the time (Victoria does not like needles so she did not watch much).  Gabriel had this confused look on her face and when I asked her what she was thinking I got the same answer.  "I'm not sure."

No it did not hurt and yes I am glad I did it.  I love what it stands for.  The nails and the cross and the crown of thorns.

As the color comes in over the next few weeks I will post a few more pictures.

Thanksgiving

This year the Prices (Jeff, Kristian, Ashton and Mallory) were not able to make it to Dick & Judy's for Thanksgiving (Debbi and Steve were not able to make it either but we did not Skype them).  We missed Debbi and Steve but we will get to see them at Christmas.

To help the Prices celebrate with us we Skyped them for two hours (after a few minutes of technical issues).  How bad is it when  16 people are looking into a computer screen.  Can you say redneck?  We played a little game of show the baby's butt on the computer and Kristian shared her love for her brother by waving at me.  There are more stories and more details to these stories.  If you want to know more, come to Dick and Judy's next year and witness for yourself.  You would not believe it if I told you!

Rebecca and Archer.

As always, we celebrated Gabriel's birthday with our extedend family.  Even the Price's got to sing Happy Birthday to Gabriel via Skype.  We all ate too much but had a great time.

Beautiful Girls

The dance studio where the girls dance went to see the Rockette's this week so naturally Gabriel and Victoria needed new dresses.  Needless to say that I did not like the experience.  Our tastes and styles are different (mainly because I do not want them to look as good as they do dressed up)  Let's just say that when Victoria was looking for high heels, I knew I was in trouble.  As you can tell from the pictures below, they ended up getting the right outfits and they look beautiful.  I am blessed to have three beautiful girls in my house.

Solo

Gabriel has wanted to do a solo at dance for the last couple of years.  She has finally gotten her wish.  Saturday she was able to perform her solo for the first time in front of someone other than her teacher.  What made this so special is that the event where she performed was Roberts Elementary (where she went to school).  Sorry there are so many pictures but we wanted the all to see event though you were not there.

What made this even more interesting is that she hurt her wrist earlier in the week and we did not find out it was just a sprain until after the MRI results came back on Friday.

She was exhausted when she got done but as you can see below she was very proud.  She did a great job.

As the dance year goes on we will post competition pictures of this dance and others as well.  Victoria has some great dances too that she will be taking to competition so look for pictures of her dancing in the future.

Broken?

We had an interesting week (actually most weeks are interesting for us).  On Monday Gabriel was @ pointe practice and fell.  She tried to catch herself and hurt her left arm.  This is the same arm she broke 18 months ago.  Tuesday we went to the doctor for x-rays but we could not be sure if it was broken or not.  Thursday we went to get an MRI and Friday we got the results.  Just a sprain.  We have to wear a brace during dance for the next few weeks but other than that she is good to go.

I guess God is paying me back for all of the times I had to go to the doctor for my injuries when I was young.  If Gabriel is not careful, I will be sending her out of the house in a "bubble wrap suit".   She seems to be following in her Dad's footsteps.

Sorry - No picture this time (no cast).  We dance today.  I will post pictures later.

Fall

We actually had two sunny days in a row this weekend.  Lately this has been a rare thing.  Kelda and Gabriel were not feeling well so Victoria and I decided to go on a bike ride and play with the dogs.  We rode for over an hour and went about 10 miles.

This is where Mallory had her accident several years ago with Nana and Papa (and Gabriel/Victoria) on the Silver Comet trail (AKA the Crash Zone)  We had to stop and honor Mallory.

It was about 75 degrees and beautiful.  I can remember the first time we went on a bike ride and Victoria almost went down in a ravine.  I have no idea how I was going to explain that.  Luckily she got control at the last second!!

She is growing up too fast and is just beautiful.(anybody have a gun for me to borrow when the boys come around?)

Trouble is exactly as her name suggests.  She is a great dog but likes to cause trouble!

SUD (Stupid Ugly Dawg) is much more laid back.  She would be happy if you would just let her lay around all day and sleep.
